Connect your goal with the actual course
Write down the responsibilities you want to develop. Compare those goals with the unit selection, entry requirements and practical expectations before choosing a qualification.
Already working in a relevant role? Explore how a qualification could connect with the work you do, supervised practice and a structured learning plan.
Discuss your options
A working learner can discuss a workplace-based course arrangement with Apeiro and their employer. Suitability depends on the qualification, available tasks, supervision and practical assessment requirements. Existing employment is a starting point for discussion, not automatic approval.
Write down the responsibilities you want to develop. Compare those goals with the unit selection, entry requirements and practical expectations before choosing a qualification.
Explain what you want to study and ask who could support the discussion. A suitable supervisor, relevant tasks and time for learning may be needed to make a workplace arrangement practical.
Doing a task at work is not automatically an assessment result. Your trainer or assessor will explain the evidence required, how skills are demonstrated and how your own contribution is verified.
Confirm scheduled activities, independent study, practical attendance and assessment deadlines. Ask about trainer contact, feedback and the process for raising a concern or a change in circumstances.
Compare the work you want to do with relevant qualifications.
Talk with Apeiro and your employer about tasks and support.
Read the course information, commitments, fees and agreed arrangements.
Complete the planned learning and provide the required assessment evidence.
Start with a short summary. The team can explain which further information is needed for your proposed arrangement.
Start the conversationExplore practical questions about your pathway. Confirm the course, delivery, fees and individual requirements with Apeiro before enrolment.
Still have a question? Let’s talkYou can enquire before making a course decision. Explain your employment situation and ask which pathways are available. A workplace-based arrangement may require relevant employment and access to suitable tasks.
Discuss the support, access and supervision your proposed arrangement requires. If workplace activities or evidence are needed, the employer’s involvement should be clarified before enrolment.
Ask Apeiro to compare your roster and role with the course commitments. A workplace arrangement can still include scheduled sessions, independent study or attendance away from your usual work site.
Do not assume that every learning or assessment activity is completed in paid work time. Clarify study commitments with Apeiro and employment arrangements with your employer before accepting an offer.
Tell your trainer about the tasks you can access. Ask whether additional learning, approved activities or another practical setting would be needed to meet the qualification requirements.
Ask about RPL and provide the evidence requested by the assessor. Previous completed training may also be reviewed for credit transfer. Neither is automatic.
Discuss trainer contact, assessment feedback, language or literacy support and accessibility needs before enrolment. Confirm which services and adjustments are available for your course and arrangement.
Contact Apeiro promptly to review your training plan. A change can affect practical access, assessment, course progress or funding arrangements; do not assume training continues unchanged.
Request the written fee schedule and clarify any employer contribution or individual payment arrangement. Ask separately about funding eligibility and any additional costs.
Send an enquiry with your role, work location, experience and course interest. Ask for current entry requirements, practical commitments and fees before completing enrolment.
